Ideas of Founding Fathers

James Madison

James Madison was one of the founding fathers of America. He was one of the most important authors in the Constitution and supported a strong federal government. He also was the main author in the Bill of Rights meaning he cared deeply about the right of the person. This can be applied to the nation of North Korea because people have very little rights there. They are ruled by Kim Jong Un and there is much famine and despair there with nothing the people can do about it. An important aspect of the Bill of Rights that is beneficial to the people of the United States is the first one which is the freedom of speech, press, religion, and the right to assemble. This allows the people to speak out against injustice and promote new solutions that can politically benefit the nation and also allows religion not to conflict with government.  North Koreans cannot speak out anything even remotely negative about their leader without facing harsh consequences. There is nothing to protect the people and therefore what Kim Jong Un says, goes. A Bill of Rights for North Korea could better the nation by bringing everyone together to care and take action in bettering the nation passionately and without the current fear they possess. Knowledge is scarce in the country of North Korea. To educate the people is to move forward in bettering a nation.

“The advancement and diffusion of knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty.”

John Locke

John Locke was one of the Founding Fathers and helped draft the United States Constitution. His ideas of a social contract and inalienable rights were highly influential during the time the constitution was drafted. He believed in the idea that if your government is corrupt the people have the right to overthrow that government and establish a new one. Natural rights wa also one of his most valued ideas and believed that all men should be given life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Locke was extremely influential to other philosophers and writers of his time and his support of rule of law along with his ideas became extremely dominant throughout his lifetime. Locke’s ideas could still be influential today in creating a democracy in North Korea just as they were in drafting the U.S. constitution. The government in North Korea is certainly corrupt and the people are absolutely denied their rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. By applying his ideas to a new constitution and overthrowing the current,  fraudulent government, the people of North Korea could potentially be promised freedom, property, and prosperity.

"The end of law is not to abolish or restrain, but to preserve and enlarge freedom. For in all the states of created beings capable of law, where there is no law, there is no freedom."
